Grandmaster Gilberto Hernandez

Grandmaster Gilberto Hernandez (2564 Elo May 2020; Peak 2572 Elo 2000) was the former head coach of Texas University of Brownsville (current UTRGV). He is the 4-time Mexican Champion, played 10 Olympiads leading the Mexican Olympic team, and winner of more than 40 international tournaments. He received the Grandmaster title in 1995, and has been an active chess player. He has triumphant records against some elite chess players. GM Hernandez also has more than 20 years of experience coaching young talented players.
